Virginia's Warbler Range Map

Description: The Virgina’s Warbler is a migrant that spends its winters in Southern Mexico and breeds in the Southwestern United States including the area surrounding Rio Mesa. It can be most readily identified in males by their bright yellow rump and breast. Up close, it is possible to note their complete eye ring, in both males and females, as well as a white throat with clear contrast between the throat and breast in males. Females may sometimes have faded yellow on their breast but are otherwise relatively drab compared to males of this species.
